Explain the rules of Mathematical Hockey
     MCDiaries Session 9
  1. Anisha, Nandini and Diya are three wicked sisters. Anisha is 97 years old, Nandini is 105, and Diya is 115. Muskaan the witch is their cousin. Muskaan and one of the sisters were born 10 years apart, Muskaan and another sister 8 years apart, and Muskaan and the remaining sister 2 years apart. How old is Muskaan?
  2. Tishyaa, Liza and Smiti wore costumes of a witch, a devil and an angel. Smiti was neither the witch nor the devil. Tishyaa was not the witch. Who was who?
  3. Avy's collapsing fishing rod has 5 sections. The first section is 50 cm long; all the others are 40 cm long. When fully extended, each pair of sections has a 5cm overlap. What is the fully extended length of the rod?
  4. Four identical diamonds cost as much as 2 of those diamonds plus Rs 60000. What is the price of a single diamond?
  5. Abhiram, Hriday, Kushaan, Adit and Aryan went trick-or-treating. Abhiram got more pieces of candy than Hriday, and Kushaan collected less than Adit. Abhiram got less than Kushaan, and Adit collected more than Aryan. Who collected the most?
  6. Three babies and two 2-kg shopping bags weigh the same as four babies and one 1-kg candy bag. How much does a baby weigh?
  7. Dudeney 333 - On a normal chessboard, a queen placed at its correct starting position can make 5 normal move. What is the largest distance it can travel in terms of number of squares?
    1. Bonus Point: What is the largest path it can travel in terms of actual distance covered, assuming it moves from center of one square to center of another?
  1. Anisha, Nandini, Diya and Muskaan are flying on their brooms in a straight line. Diya is flying next to Anisha, but not next to Muskaan. Nandini is not next to Muskaan. Who is flying next to Nandini?
  2. Insert +,-,x,/ and parenthesis in following equation to get it right. You can combine multiple 2's into multidigit numbers like 222.   2 2 2 2 2 2 = 100
  3. Hriday, Kushaan and Adit are residents of Knights and Liars island. Hriday and Adit say that all three of them are liars. Kushaan claims that exactly two of them are liars. Who is a liar and who is a knight?

Since Mother Pelican has a beak-full of fish, she flies only half as fast as the father. Pelicans meet mid-air 4 minutes after takeoff. How long will it take Mother Pelican to get home from lake?
  6. Tishyaa, a young and smart wizard is on the quest to for the Stone to Happiness. She sees two doors marked 20 and 21 in front. They lead to rooms with the same spell - when the wizard enters the room, 20 or 21 (respectively) random numbers will appear in front of her. She has to strike one number out. If the sum of leftover numbers is even, the Stone of Happiness will be revealed, else Tishyaa will perish! Which door should Tishyaa choose?

... and ton of other puzzles
